Sidux is a community based GNU/Linux distribution based on the "unstable" branch of Debian called "Sid", hence the name Sidux. The aim is to make Sid a usable system that provides users with the most up to date software available. It also uses the most modern Linux kernels available as they are released and provides tools to make their installation easy. It can also be used in live cd mode for the occasions when that is needed. Support is via the forum at sidux.com or via the sidux irc channel. Upgrade warnings are posted when appropriate and fixes detailed. This is a distro run by GNU/Linux gurus that aren't scared of the bleeding edge of Linux technology The official artwork however, lacks any direction and is bland and uninspiring. It does not bear any relevance to the exciting, bleeding edge and sometimes dangerous nature of the distro itself. Hopefully I can help you add a bit of colour to your system and replace it with something a bit more relevant. Click on one of the buttons to visit the section you are interested in. |
